Mar 05, 2025
Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) is made expressly to be used in cosmetic goods as a stabilized source of vitamin C.
SAP has both light and oxygen stability.
Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate CAS No.:66170-10-3
>95.0% purity.
at least 45% ascorbic acid concentration.
Sodium ascorbyl phosphate has a slight, distinctive odor and is a white to off-white powder.
pH 9–10 (3% in water), soluble in water (clear solution at 3% concentration), and perhaps discolored at pH values lower than 6.
Advantages of sodium ascorbyl phosphate:
- Stabilized vitamin C that remains intact in aqueous solutions. Asorbic acid esterification shields vitamin C from oxidative deterioration.
- Strong antioxidant that has been demonstrated to shield skin from oxidative damage
- Can enhance the appearance of delicate and aging skin
- Often included as a supplement to skin-lightening creams to address age spots and hyperpigmentation
- Vitamin E and/or L-ascorbyl palmitate can boost the antioxidant action.
- Add by pre-dissolving in a small amount of distilled water and adding it right before the preservative at the conclusion of the formulation process.
Normal concentration: 0.2–3%, with a maximum of 10%.
Only for external use.
Applications of sodium ascorbyl phosphate: Suncare & post-sun treatments, lotions, creams, cosmetic items.
